Green Vision for Windows
Tree-planting prioritisation for Indian cities — air quality,
canopy loss, traffic bottlenecks, soil and cost, on one map.
Download for Windows
Windows 10 or 11 · 64-bit
Windows will show a warning. This is expected.
The installer is not code-signed — a
certificate costs a few hundred dollars a year, and this is an early build.
Windows SmartScreen flags any unsigned installer, however harmless. To
continue:
- Click More info on the blue "Windows protected your PC" dialog
- Click Run anyway
If you would rather verify the file
first, its SHA-256 should be exactly:
Check it in PowerShell with
Get-FileHash .\GreenVision-1.0.0-x64.exe
macOS BETA
The same app, the same engine, the same numbers.
The Mac build runs behind Windows. It is built and tested separately, so
its version may be older than the Windows one and new features can reach it
later. Nothing already in it stops working — it simply arrives second.
Download for Apple Silicon
Apple Silicon — M1, M2, M3 or M4 · macOS 12 or later
How to install
- Double-click the downloaded
.zip to unpack it
- Drag Green Vision into your Applications folder
- Open it. macOS will say it cannot check the app for malicious
software — go to System Settings › Privacy &
Security, scroll down, and click Open Anyway. Once only.
- If it says the app is damaged instead, macOS has quarantined
the download. Open Terminal and run:
xattr -cr "/Applications/Green Vision.app"
then open it again. The app is not damaged — that is what macOS
says about software it cannot trace to a paid Apple developer
account.
What you get
- Everything is included. No Python, no setup, no API keys. The
analysis engine and a 2.6-million-feature map index install with the app.
- It works offline. Map reads are answered from your own machine
rather than a public server, so the Traffic tab and the area census load
in under a second and never hit a rate limit.
- An assistant that runs on your machine. A compressed
1.5-billion-parameter model, through Intel OpenVINO. It works out which
question you asked, and answers the ones the measurements alone cannot.
Every figure it writes is checked against those measurements first: a
number that is not in the readings means the answer is discarded rather
than shown. Answers it wrote are labelled, because they are the only
sentences in the app that are written rather than computed.
- Five cities baked in — Ahmedabad, Bengaluru, Chennai, Delhi and
Mumbai — and any point in India can be analysed on the map.
- Signing in is optional. The app is fully usable without an
account; an account adds saved projects, assistant memory, search
history and the shared Library.
A desktop shortcut is created for you.
Opening it starts the engine automatically — nothing else to run. Installing a
newer version replaces this one; your projects and your sign-in are kept.
What people say
Planners, horticulture officers, students and volunteers on
what the app is actually like to use — in their words, and several of
them on video.
